I’m not sure why it took me so long to finally of to Lake Tahoe, but I’m sure glad we finally did. What a place, what a place. I can’t wit to get back here, its unreal. So beautiful, you can’t help but ooh and ahh at every part of it! Id recommend vacation here to anyone, especially families, it’s the ultimate playground for little ones with so much to do and explore!
Marty’s Cafe was maybe one of the tastiest restaurants I’ve been to ever. It was seriously fine dinning that was camouflaged into a breakfast and lunch laid back cafe. Phenomenal food, I can’t say enough good things about it. We orderd the 50/50 with a baby green salad, the BLTA chicken sandwich with their insane potato salad, and the asian noodle salad.
Camp Richardson was such a cool spot, you could probably spend a week there by itself! There are so many fun beaches surrounding it, bike paths, hiking trails, a historic ice cream shop, campground, cabins, the list goes on!
Kayaking and paddle boarding at Donner Lake was a huge highlight for the kids, and us! We took a tour of the memorial museum at the park entrance, and then camped out on the lake for the afternoon while we paddled around and swam at the lake.
I love architecture and history so the Mansion Tour at Emerald Bay was a total treat. It’s an amazing place with wonderful stories and history. Not to mention the bay was one of the most amazing scenes on the lake and it was one of the most special days watching the kids hike, explore, jump off the dock, build a boat out of an old log and sail across to the peninsula, and the list goes on.
The historic homes tour at Pope Beach near Camp Richardson were fantastic! Even the kids loved exploring around an seeing how people lived years ago. We also loved the beaches in front of all these estates. They were way less busy than the surrounding beaches, it felt like we were on our own private beach!
Base Camp Pizza was recommended by some locals, and they were right! It was so good! Yummy fresh pizza, salads, and a great outdoor dining area!
Taylor Creek was near the historic homes and Camp Richardson it was a wonderful place for the kids to nature walk and explore, with a little nature center, and aquarium. We all had a great time walking around here.
Enjoy a some time off. We all need it!
